Work where your education

was always meant to go.

Timely was built on a single conviction: that the people supporting mental health professionals should truly understand mental health. If you have a formal education in mental health and want meaningful, flexible work, we want to hear from you.
🎓
Our Non-Negotiable Standard

A formal education in mental health is not optional.

This is what makes Timely different, and it is the reason our clients trust us with their practices. Every single member of our team holds a degree, diploma, or professional registration in a recognized mental health field. We are not a general VA agency. We are a specialized, clinical-grade support team. If you do not have formal mental health education, your application will not be considered, regardless of your administrative skills or experience.

✦ Applications without formal mental health education will not be reviewed
Education Requirements

What we require

To be considered for a role at Timely, you must hold a college diploma or university degree that includes formal education in psychology, social work, or a closely related mental health field. A declared minor in psychology or social service work alongside another degree also qualifies. This is the baseline for every position we hire for, without exception.

Does not qualify

We have respect for all paths into caring professions, but life coaching certifications and medical office administration programs do not meet our education requirement. If your background is primarily in general administration, healthcare admin, or coaching without a credited post-secondary mental health component, we are not the right fit at this time.
Why this matters

The standard that protects your clients' clients

When a therapist asks us to handle an intake call, they are trusting us with someone in distress. When a client emails about a billing concern after a difficult session, the tone of our response matters. This is not general admin work. It requires clinical sensitivity.

Therapists come to Timely because they are burned out. They cannot afford to wonder if their VA will handle a delicate situation poorly. Our education requirement is not a gatekeeping exercise. It is a promise we make to every practice we support.

If you have spent years studying mental health and found yourself pulled toward work that supports the system rather than sitting in the chair, you may be exactly who we are looking for.

Clinical Sensitivity in Every Interaction

Our clients' clients are often in vulnerable moments. Understanding that shapes how we write emails, handle no-shows, and respond to distressed callers.

Genuine Understanding of Privacy and Ethics

PHIPA and the ethics of confidentiality are not abstractions to us. They are values our team learned before they ever joined Timely.

Language That Does Not Retraumatize

We know why the words we use in an intake form matter. Our training means we do not accidentally undo what a therapist spent months building with a client.

Real Credibility with Clinicians

Therapists can tell within two minutes whether someone understands their world. Our team passes that test, and that is why practices trust us with their most sensitive work.

What You Get

Meaningful, flexible work

We offer our team the kind of work environment that makes their education feel purposeful, not wasted.

Fully Remote, Canada-Wide

Work from anywhere in Canada. We have team members in Ontario, BC, and beyond. All you need is a reliable internet connection and a quiet workspace.

Flexible Hours

We work with your schedule. Many of our team members balance other professional or clinical commitments alongside their work at Timely.

Purpose-Driven Work

Your mental health background is not a footnote here. It is the reason you are hired. You will use your training every day in ways that genuinely support clinicians and their clients.

A Team That Gets It

You will not have to explain what a trauma-informed response is. Everyone here has the same foundational understanding. It makes the work better and the team stronger.

Growth Into Specialization

Strong performers have the opportunity to grow into senior VA, mentorship, and practice consulting roles. We promote from within and love watching team members expand their scope.

Canadian-Founded, Women-Owned

Timely was founded in 2019 by a Canadian mental health professional. Our values are baked in, not performed. You will feel that from the first conversation.

Ready to put your education to work?

We accept applications on a rolling basis and reach out when there is a strong match. Submitting an application does not guarantee a position, but it gets you into our pool for current and future openings.

We review every application personally. If your background is a strong fit, we will invite you to a conversation. The process is warm, not clinical.

Our Hiring Process

1. Application Review

We review your educational background first. Applications without qualifying mental health education are respectfully declined at this stage.

2. Intro Conversation

A relaxed 20-minute video call with our founder or a senior team member. We want to understand your background, your motivations, and what kind of work would fit your life.

3. Skills Assessment

A short, practical task relevant to the work we do. Nothing overwhelming. This helps us understand how you approach real practice scenarios.

4. Onboarding

If there is a mutual fit, we will bring you into our team with a structured onboarding process. You will never be thrown in without support.

Submit your application

Tell us about your background. We will take it from there.

Formal mental health education is required to apply.

Applications without a recognized college diploma or university degree (with at least a minor in psychology or social service work) will not be reviewed. Please only submit if you meet this requirement.
